An Evening of Food, Beer, and Live Music in Brickell
In April 2018, Brickell City Centre transformed an outdoor lawn in the heart of Miami's financial district into a lively beer garden, bringing together local breweries, food vendors, live music, and an evening of entertainment beneath the city's skyline.
I had the opportunity to photograph Biergarten Night, capturing everything from the vendors preparing food and pouring drinks to the guests enjoying the festivities as the sun went .
A Biergarten in the Heart of Brickell
Held on April 19, 2018, the event was organized by Brickell City Centre and Prism Creative Group. It featured an assortment of local breweries, food vendors, and live performances by Miami-based bands Magic City Hippies and Scone Cash Players.
The open-air setting offered a refreshing contrast to the surrounding office buildings. Picnic tables, string lights, and a large grassy lawn created an inviting space where guests could gather, enjoy food and drinks, and spend the evening outdoors.
For me, photographing an event like this is about capturing more than individual moments. It's about showing how all the different elements come together to create the experience.
Local Flavors and a Relaxed Atmosphere
Food and drinks were central to the evening, with participating vendors including Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, Miami Smokers, Don Giuseppe's Pizzeria, and Viv's Little Waffle Shoppe. The event also featured a selection of beers from local breweries.
Throughout the evening, I photographed the vendors at work, guests enjoying their time together, and the smaller details that gave the event its character.
These are some of my favorite moments to capture during event photography. While wide shots help establish the setting, photographs of the people and little interactions provide a more personal perspective.
Together, they tell a much more complete story.
From Sunset to Live Music Under the City Lights
As daylight faded, the atmosphere changed.
The string lights became more prominent, the surrounding buildings illuminated the skyline, and the grassy lawn filled with guests enjoying the evening's entertainment.
The live performances added another dimension to the event, creating opportunities to capture both the musicians onstage and the audience gathered around them.
One of the things I enjoy about photographing outdoor events is documenting this transition from daylight to evening. The changing light creates a completely different visual atmosphere, and capturing both helps tell the story of the event from beginning to end.

From the first drinks being served to the final moments of live music, Biergarten Night offered so many different scenes to photograph.
The combination of candid interactions, food and beverage details, live entertainment, and the surrounding Brickell skyline made it a wonderful opportunity to document an event from multiple perspectives.
Brickell event photography offers a wonderful opportunity to capture Miami's vibrant atmosphere, from intimate gatherings to large outdoor celebrations. My goal is always to create a collection of images that captures both the overall setting and the smaller moments that make each occasion memorable.
